Chairman of the Supervisory board of the IFF Fraunhofer Institute in Magdeburg. Fraunhofer is the largest research organization in Europe focused on practical application in various fields, including energy. The Institute has traditionally intensive contacts with the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia and is working on the implementation of various research projects with local partners from industry and science.

Scheel is the coordinator of projects for Kazakhstan of the Fraunhofer IFF

since 2016
